FORFEC Friends of Ruyton Fundraising and Events Committee

The Ruyton Luncheon and Ball 2009

In first term the comedian Denise Scott wowed The Ruyton Luncheon with a hilarious reading and commentary on her book 'All That Happened at No. 26'. Held at The Boulevard Restaurant in Kew, some 120 Ruyton parents enjoyed a three course lunch, bidding on silent auction items, and lots of take-home table prizes.

In third term The Ruyton Winter Ball took place, this year at Etihad Stadium, where the table theme was of famous sporting arenas and events around the world. Again, the Committee did the school proud: donations for both live and silent auctions, and the Lucky Footies, were wonderful. In particular, the artist Kim Kennedy created a stir by creating a painting at the event for inclusion in the live auction! A great night was had by all dancing to Popcorn, with parent Jan Jacklin as MC for the evening and Steve Abbott from Jellis Craig as chief auctioneer …

FORFEC is happy to announce that between the two events just over $63,000 was raised for the school, to be divided between the Ruyton Community Scholarship and the redevelopment of the Junior School - The Centre for Creativity.

The Committees would like to thank all of our parents, donors, sponsors, and friends who gave so generously to make both of these events possible. In particular, we would like to thank our premier sponsor, First Samuel Ltd., for their continued support of Ruyton.
