Ruyton Saturday Netball Club

The RSNC welcomes all girls from Years 4 to 12 to participate in our netball programme as a player, coach or umpire. Matches are played on a Saturday and our programme focuses on the development of sportsmanship, teamwork, enthusiasm and netball skills.

Presentation Night

Season 1 saw an unprecedented number of teams participating in finals: 12 teams made the semi finals; 8 teams went through to the grand finals and 3 teams ultimately won their respective sections. Congratulations should go to all girls and their coaches for a wonderful season, which drew to a close with the annual presentation night held at Ruyton on the 9th October. Once again we received positive feedback from all of those who attended, and sausages and icy poles were enjoyed by all! The members of the committee provided assistance in cooking sausages, helping with the set up and clean up and donating icy poles, cordial and sauce. It was fantastic this year to see so many parents turn out to support their daughters’ outstanding netball achievements.

Raffle

Our major fundraiser was a raffle which raised approximately $1, 300 for the Club. This money is put towards coaching payments, the purchase of first aid equipment and new equipment as well as ongoing coach and player development opportunities.

Spring Fling

The Spring Fling takes on a more relaxed approach as it tries to cater for players who are busy with other commitments such as athletics, rowing and exams. With only a 7 week season, the focus is participation. Again, the twilight round has proved to be a success and a novelty for players, and in terms of organisation it significantly reduced the number of forfeits on Stakes day.
