Ruyton Saturday Netball Club

The RSNC welcomes all girls from Years 4 to 12 to participate in our netball programme as a player, coach or umpire. Matches are played on a Saturday and our programme focuses on the development of sportsmanship, teamwork, enthusiasm and netball skills.

Two rounds of selections were held for girls in Years 5 -8. it was great to see the Year 7s turn up to the second week, despite having a very tiring week at camp! We fielded 26 teams from Year 4 to open, making us the equal largest club involved on a Saturday.

It was great to see most of our coaches return again this year. As a new initiative, Ruyton Saturday Netball introduced the coaching development programme. Run by professional coaches, these sessions were designed to give the girls coaching for RSN a chance to gain a number of perspectives on how to construct a relevant and interesting training session.  It was also exciting to see a number of new girls getting involved in umpiring.

This year Ruyton Saturday Netball introduced a new design for the netball dress to ensure that the design remains current. The new dress will have a changeover period of 2 years, and become compulsory at the beginning of 2012.

In order to become better aligned with the other parent support groups of Ruyton, Ruyton Saturday Netball  welcomed all parents involved in the club to attend the open committee meetings.

Fundraising

Our major fundraising event of the year, was the Harry Potter Movie night. All girls had the chance to enter the flyer competition designed to promote the night. A very big thank you to the dedicated group of parents who have assisted us in our endeavours.

Spring Fling

Term 4 commenced with a successful presentation night with guest speaker Nicole Keegan. There followed the Spring Fling season, a short six week season in which all teams participated in finals.
