Drama

A multitude of co-curricular performance options were made available to students throughout 2009. In first semester, the Scotch/Ruyton Middle School Play presented an inspired interpretation of the ‘The Insect Play.’ Performing to full houses at the Geoffrey McComas Theatre, the cast utilised their talents to present an array of humorous, moving and impassioned moments throughout the performance, demonstrating sophisticated skills in characterisation.

PAHF (Performing Arts House Festival) challenged Year 11 students and their cast to devise creative responses to the stimulus ‘A Night at the Museum,' where each House visited the events of specific historical eras. Students from Years 7 -12 rehearsed intensively over a 2 week period to present praiseworthy performances.

In second semester, the talented cast and Crew of the Trinity/Ruyton Musical took audiences on a Shakespearian space adventure in ‘Return To The Forbidden Planet’.

The Drama department is indebted to the selfless and often time consuming tasks undertaken by FORDA to ensure that the cast and crew have a positive and enriching production experience. From costume sourcing to construction, set building, catering and providing atmospheric Front of House events, this invaluable team has been instrumental in the ultimate success of the productions and Year Level Presentations staged throughout 2009.
