In 2010, thanks to a generous grant from the Federal Government, Ruyton has redeveloped its Little Ruyton House site for the Junior School, to provide updated classrooms, learning spaces and administration areas to benefit our Junior School girls directly.
The Centre for Creativity
Excitingly, the Board of Directors at Ruyton has used this opportunity to push the vision for Junior School education further – to establish the Centre for Creativity.
At the basement level, the Centre for Creativity stretches from Wellington Street through to the tennis courts. Within its walls, all our Junior School girls will experience creativity-based education as the focus of their 21st Century learning.
Creativity is found in all aspects of life, including social, economic, aesthetic, technological and cultural spheres. It is applied across many fields, including science, mathematics, technology, humanities and the arts and is necessary to drive innovation and productivity in virtually every industry. It is an essential skill that needs to be encouraged. Being creative will help solve world issues and promote productivity and growth, generate social benefits and improve appreciation and respect for others.
In the Centre for Creativity at Ruyton there are spaces for the creative arts, for science and scientific literacy, technology, design, art and craft, music, drama, perceptual motor programmes and educational extension, all set amongst landscaped playground areas with exciting corners and new equipment to explore.
These are our core values for your daughters’ and grand-daughters’ future education.
